What is Adler's dream theory
Adler was a protege of Freud. Like his teachers, he opened his own way in the theoretical study of dreams. He believed that dreams were self-deception and self-hypnosis. Adler regards dreams as part of the human body's spiritual activities, used to stimulate one's inner emotions. Things that he usually dares not do are realized in dreams. In Adler's eyes, dreams are a continuation of daytime activities. All behaviors during the day have a direction. In the dream, this direction will become clearer and will provide a preview of what will happen in the future. Regarding the symbol and ethnic influence of dreams, Adler believes that specific societies have specific dream content, and he believes that the content of dreams is borrowed from reality.
